Violin lessons balance careful technical work with the pleasure of making music. Students are encouraged to listen, explore, and develop the skills that help their own musical voice emerge.
Learning together
Duets from an early age.
Alongside private lessons, duet lessons help students learn to listen carefully to another player, respond musically, and enjoy creating a shared sound.
Pairs can work towards the Tutti Concert together. Making music side by side from a young age builds confidence, friendship, and an instinct for ensemble playing.

Technique, musicianship, and support.
Music Diary
Students and parents use a Music Diary to see clearly what to practise between lessons. This keeps home practice connected, manageable, and encouraging.
AMEB preparation
Sight-reading, aural tests, and general knowledge are built into lessons, so students can prepare for AMEB examinations with confidence.
Studio 2 & extra support
Support is available for orchestra music and school assignments. Students may also use Studio 2 at no additional charge before or after their lesson for independent violin practice.
Competition & concertmaster success
Growing with confidence, on every stage.
Audrich earned third place at an international competition and received an Audience Prize for Outstanding Performance. Allen Music students have also won prizes at competitions across Australia. Many have grown into concertmasters, leading Queensland and school orchestras with confidence and musical generosity. Each year, our concert gives students a welcoming opportunity to perform in front of an audience, building the confidence to share their music with pride.

Schradieck · Yost · Sevcik Battle
Technical practice can be fun.
The foundational finger work violinists need most can feel repetitive for children when practised alone. Our friendly Battles turn Schradieck, Yost, and Sevcik exercises into a shared challenge — so students practise with purpose, encouragement, and a real sense of achievement.
- Students become excited to improve and often ask for “one more round”.
- As they play, they build secure finger shape, independence, coordination, and confident shifting.
- The aim is never simply to win: it is to create a reliable technical foundation that makes future music easier and more expressive.
- Each year, a Battle winner may present at the Tutti Concert and receive a trophy.
